Bascule, the new magazine that sets things in motion

29 Nov 2025

In and around Béziers, Bascule was born out of a simple observation: the cultural scene is bubbling over, but there’s nothing to bring it all together. Based on this observation, the Asensò studio decided to launch a free monthly magazine, designed as an inquisitive and accessible look at what makes the area tick, with the aim of provoking discoveries, encounters and that little click that makes you want to go there.

Designed as a take-anywhere directory, Bascule lists events, books, wines, tables, places and faces, with the support of the Clareton bookshop and Les Jajalogues. Its name evokes that precise moment when you spring into action, when you change pace and let yourself be swept along towards new adventures. In this way, each issue becomes an open playground, where practices, professions and sensibilities intersect.

Driven by a strong graphic and typographic bias, the magazine asserts a lively, moving identity. Colors and illustrations evolve each month, while typography structures content and guides reading, for a fluid, readable experience.

More than just a diary, Bascule seeks to create links with those who bring local culture to life and to celebrate a human and generous territory, to be found every month in the field and on the Bascule website. basculemag.fr.

So Bascule!

Creating links is our way of living in the world.

The Asensò studio was recently featured in two regional magazines: Cœurs d’Oc and Sud-Hérault. Two views that talk about our approach, our collaborations and what drives us: creating links.
