Avocats du Thélème
Law firm since 1978

Les Avocats du Thélème is a Société Civile Professionnelle (SCP) comprising 6 partner lawyers, 7 associate lawyers, 4 legal experts and 5 employees. All the firm’s lawyers, who are members of the Montpellier bar, practice in complementary fields, enabling them to offer cutting-edge expertise in both litigation and advisory services.
A multidisciplinary firm, it has offices in Montpellier and Béziers.

The logo is made up of a succession of rays symbolizing the full range of the firm’s litigation and advisory services.
These radiations also evoke a lawyer’s toga, in a singular form inspired by the hexagonal architecture of the Abbaye de Thélème.
Through these beams, we wanted to express the union of strengths and skills that converge towards a single direction.

We designed a visual identity in harmony with its architectural and aesthetic environment. The logotype draws its inspiration from the formal and chromatic language of the office furniture, in particular the reception counter, a warm meeting point.

An identity inspired by the origin of the name: Thélème

The Abbaye de Thélème is a fictional community imagined by François Rabelais, a humanist writer trained at the Montpellier medical school, in his major work Gargantua, published in the 16th century. In it, he conceived the first utopia in French literature: an ideal place based on freedom, harmony and individual fulfillment.

Unlike traditional abbeys, which are governed by strict rules and an ascetic lifestyle, the residents of the Abbaye de Thélème enjoy complete freedom, obeying only one maxim: “Do as you please”. Here, the individual will is sovereign. The Thelemites act according to their own free will, driven by honor and guided by virtue. The freedom championed by Rabelais is based not on the absence of rules, but on personal responsibility, mutual respect, common sense and shared intelligence.

Architecturally, Abbaye de Thélème is inspired by the Château de Chambord, with its round towers and famous monumental staircase. Rabelais provides such a precise description that the building is hexagonal in shape and located south of the Loire

From sign to place: a fully embodied identity

The new visual identity also incorporates symbolic codes linked to the world of justice. Its dominant color, a subtle blend of blue and red, evokes a deep blue with purplish highlights, combining authority and serenity.

A touch of copper enhances the ensemble, embodying the professionalism, elegance and level of expertise of the firm’s lawyers, as well as their commitment to service excellence.

The graphic identity of Avocats du Thélème has been carefully applied to all communication media: stationery (letterhead, flap folder, notebook, business card), as well as interior signage, guiding visitors through the firm’s spaces with clarity and coherence.
